Replacing a 800 Series Pen Tray with ECP Module

Remove the existing pen tray from the SMART board by disconnecting the cables on the back of it and make note of what ports they were plugged into.

Remove the pens and eraser.

On the underside of the pen tray, under where the pens sit, there are two plastic tabs, pull those towards the floor and pull the pen tray towards you and it will slide off the L-Brackets.

Flip the pen tray over and the side that has the volume control module will have 2 screws visible, remove those two screws.

Slide the ECP module slowly to away from the pen tray but note there is a short cable that has to be disconnected before the module can be completely removed, it looks like a Cat5 cable. Press the cable ends tab to disconnect it from the port then you can remove the module.

Now remove the module that is on the replacement pen tray in the same way and put on the ECP module from the original pen tray in it's place. You will have to make sure that Cat5 cable end is connected.

Reinstall the pen tray and connect the cables in their appropriate ports based on your notes when you removed them and test the pen tray.
