Safely Cleaning and Disinfecting Your AV Equipment

Wash your hands before and after.

If possible turn off the device, unplug it from other powered devices.

Depending on the situation you may want to wear hand and eye protection.

Using distilled water if available, clean the equipment with a damp lint-free cloth before disinfecting the surface.

Never spray liquids directly onto your equipment.

Use a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution or 70% isopropyl alcohol based wipes. Some equipment surfaces my not react well to stronger alcohol solutions, as well as bleach or ammonium chloride based products such as the Clorox Wipe.

When using a spray solution us a lint-free cloth that is damp to wipe down the nonporous surfaces and screens. Be sure to not spray the solution directly on the equipment, and to avoid any large seams or vents in the equipment that may allow moisture to come in contact with the internal components.

Be sure to clean and disinfect all areas of your equipment and facility that may be prone to human contact. Some areas may need to be cleaned more than others but excessive cleaning may harm the equipment.
